ecoText is excited to announce an official partnership with California State University's MERLOT and SkillsCommons. MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resources for Learning and Online Teaching, merlot.org) has provided an open, online library of educational materials for individuals and educational communities for 24 years. Open access to curated online learning, support materials, and content creation tools has enabled MERLOT's international community of educators, learners, and researchers to deliver affordable learning for all.
SkillsCommons is a leader in career and technical education meeting workforce development needs nationwide. Developed out of a $2 billion federal initiative, SkillsCommons has a mission to accelerate the democratization of education for all through open educational resources (OER). As the world's largest collection of open workforce training materials, skills commons brings learning materials developed in partnerships with industries and aims at individuals seeking to amplify their technical skills and knowledge.
Together ecoText, MERLOT, and SkillsCommons will collaborate with institutional leaders to increase the usage of OER materials, make educational content dynamic, and focus on empowring academic communities in workforce-relevant skills for today's world.
